Keds shoes

Commuting in Philippines especially in Manila is not easy. One must be under either the fierce sun or pouring rain whichever the weather condition is coz there's rarely any proper shed or waiting area for the bus or jeepney passengers.
Then there are insufficient pedestrian crossing lanes or overhead walkways that you'll have to tackle a maze of people and "play dodge ball" with the cars before you could finally get unto a bus or jeep...
Today I am doing a favor for a friend to pick up something from the Bureau of Immigration which to me is very confusing if I drive so I decided to commute going there hence I had to wear something that is robust and comfy enough for the rough and rigorous travel....since my daughters commute everyday, I thought their clothes must be good for commuting...so this is what I got from their closet.

Comfortable footwear is of paramount importance when commuting in the Philippines. Keds shoes just fulfills the need. Its heels are cushioned- perfect for long walks and hopping on buses or jeeps that are actually still moving.

How to turn a matronly Shift dress into something Sassy

With a little snip here and there, you can transform a dress from looking matronly to sexy and sassy.

Here's one of mine.....

Find out how to Trim the waist without losing the inches

Are you a mid-section heavy?  or a stick straight person? or have you gained curves in the wrong places? and yet you wanted to show off some waistline without having to sweat it out. Here's the answer...you can create a small waist by wearing a high waisted but flared shorts or pants.

The high waist directs the eyes to where the waist is supposed to be if in case it got lost with the fat. While the flare makes the lower part looked bigger than the waist thus viola a smaller waist.

Here I am wearing  vintage clothes from way back in the late '90's which I rummaged from my own closet.

Let me know if you are interested to recreate the look, I can give some suggestions of how to...one alternative is  re-purposing a men's high waisted denim.

A guide to Plane flight outfit

When going on a flight - comfort is the main criteria in choosing what to wear, although once in a while you would see in the airport some looking like they are going to a party or a high fashion event (which obviously makes tugging and pulling the luggage and running from one gate to another difficult)...but as long as they could stand the uneasiness in a long flight and they don't show it on their faces, then it's their choice; it's their fashion statement.
On the other hand some people however  equates  comfortable outfit to  looking sloppy which shouldn't be the case- One can be comfy yet stylish.
And take note airport temperatures are unpredictable - there are areas that are frigid cold and there are spots that just makes you strip...so this has to be taken into consideration.
I recently went on a short trip to the province and these were what I wore going and coming back.
Let me know what you think of my style....

This is my outfit going to the province- with ballet flats, chiffon blouse layered with cropped jacket and jersey leggings

My outfit coming back - high flipflops, slacks, chiffon blouse and cropped cardigan.
......Stay in Style.....

My Lover, my partner, my best friend and best of all my husband

My husband and I recently went on a trip to his hometown to attend his High School class reunion. Since he works in a different country and  vacation leave was scarce, the schedule was tight. The moment he arrived in Manila, he had to rush to prepare his stuff and pack...and I never choose his clothes for him...in other words we pack our clothes independently and not knowing what the other would bring. And we also don't ask each other what the other will wear for the day...but when I looked at the photos we captured during that trip, I am awed by how our color scheme matched, or complemented the other in most of the days. (Probably if my husband packs in more clothes, we could have had matching or complementing colors in all the days)....does this happen to most couples? I guess so, right?

Here's our snap shots.
On the first day we have complementing colors of Black and white. Then on the second day we wore shades of purple palette, although I changed into black blouse in the evening.

On Sept 26 morning he wore a white shirt with red/blue/yellow/black emblem and I wore red blouse, blue pants with black belt. In the evening he wore black and I had white shirt. On Sept 27 morning, his shorts and my blouse are of similar color scheme. In the evening of 27th we both have shades of blue and on the 28th we wore white shirts although different but the print colors are the same.

Sept 28 morning his white shirt is trimmed with red on the sleeves while I wore red abstract design blouse. Although later in the evening I changed into a different outfit yet it is also lightly colored. On the 29th we both have solid colors and perfect color blocking.

Sept 30, is not matching or complementary colors. In Oct 2nd, he wore dark gray shirt with yellow trimming on the collar while I wore a dress with yellow and gray print/design.

How to wear a sexy club dress as daytime outfit

There are times in our life that we receive gifts (clothes that is) that does not  represent our lifestyle and taste. And so we are tempted to either re-gift them or toss them to charity boxes- but wait, I don't think the orphans and elderly would like to wear them too even though they're free. Some people find re-gifting repulsive also...and so it stays in the closet until it rots..  But fret no more 'coz there's still a way to wear them according to your taste and lifestyle without having to alter it. The answer is LAYERING.

Here's an example of mine... a sexy clubbing outfit.

The last time I went inside a club was in 1980's  and even then I would still not wear this shapeless dress with an awkward neckline raffles.

Sexy Cat Suit inspired outfit- Look of the day

A cat suit is a very sexy outfit and is a favorite of Jennifer Lopez to wear in her concerts.
Typical cat suit design is a one-piece suit that is skin tight  and belted at the hips.....I would love to wear a  cat suit if only I have the figure to carry it and the right occasion to wear them to...

But I can't wait for those conditions to happen so I have my own version of a cat suit style inspired outfit ...one that is forgiving of my mommy tummy and ok to wear to just a casual event or just malling for that matter.

Here's my cat suit inspired look.....

Having two separate pieces (instead of a one piece suit) is less restricting. The shirt is not too tight, that it can be ruched  around the hips to conceals those bumps- which I call  mommy tummy. After giving birth to 5 kids, I just can't get rid of the extra sagging skin on my belly.

The pants is a jersey pants which used to be Flared bottom. I altered it into pencil cut.   (please excuse the mess at the back...I just don't have the software to edit it out.).

The Hobo jacket relaxes the look.

The loose jacket compliments the tight outfit.

some comfy wedges
